Check Out Those MusclesDue to Harrison Ford's extreme old age, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have been forced to look elsewhere for someone to play the beloved whip-cracking hero in the upcoming Indiana Jones sequal entitled The Search for Spock.

This fourth installment has Jones in search of an alien spaceship from the future that has presumibly crash landed in the Andes Mountains. Its cargo is a Volcan named Spock. His task: find it before the Nazis.

Mortensen
The search for a new leading man lead Lucas and Spielberg to John Mortensen, of South Jordan, Utah. Mortensen has no real acting experience, so his reported salary of $32 million plus 15% of the gross comes as a surprise to many. Mortensen shrugs it off. “A few years from now when I'm making $80 million per film everyone will realize this was a bargain.” Interestingly, Mortensen is also being considered to take the place of Pierce Brosnan as the new James Bond. “I'm not British, but I can fake it well enough,” Mortensen said.

The list of Jones hopefuls included such big names as Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Ben Affleck, Meryl Streep and the late River Phoenix, who played a young Indiana Jones in The Last Crusade.

Zhang Hu
Also, it is reported that Zhang Ziyi will be cast as the love interest of Indiana Jones. The Chinese native is expected to inject some much-needed martial arts into the Indiana Jones series much like she did in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and The House of Flying Daggars. The choice came down to Zhang and Kelly Hu, star of The Scorpion King and X2: X-Men United.

Diesel
There is no word yet as to who will be cast as Spock, but it is reported that Leonard Nemoy will not reprise the role that made him famous. So far the list of Volcan hopefuls includes Mike Meyers, Hugh Jackman, Samual L. Jackson and Vin Diesel.

Filming is set to begin next month in Cairo, Egypt with a budget of just over $220 million.
